School sucks.

Tue Nov 24, 2009, 2:55 PM
Ah, thanksgiving break, oh how I love you turkey. And I'm not making a tofu turkey, peta, the only way I really enjoy tofu is not in large quantities. I don't really like turkey all that much any way. Whenever I've had turkey, it's always dry. Gravy is fat. That's gross, so don't say that that'll make my turkey not-dry.

Man, I had to look through 125 deviations. I've been gone forever.

Below is a rant, pertaining to my school, of which anyone who knows me and goes to my school would be particularly interested it. It's of the utmost importance in explaining why our school sucks:

For those of you who go to my school and those of you who don't give a crap, this is still an outrage.
Like every other school in America, we have a student council. Unlike every other school in America, I want to tear apart the guts of the student council. We have a homecoming dance, yes? And it costs lots of money, yes? All right, so maybe the funds go into supporting the dance or maybe they go to buying paper. Who knows. Well now we do. The student council has been taking their "slice of the pie", not like we get any slices. There's been a scholarship around at my school for a long time going to the students who are in school government in reward for their "hard work" in supporting the student population. The money has come from taking money from the funds raised by homecoming, and who knows where else.
Scholarships are great, aren't they? No, my friends, they are not in these case. If you haven't connected the dots, the STUDENT BODY is paying for the scholarships of these students. Not only are they taking the money that WE desperately need for college, but they're wasting it on THEIR college, not ours. If anything, this scholarship should be open to the student body who paid for the stinkin' thing. You can argue that we're indirectly paying for some of the other scholarships that our school offers through taxes (I think they do...) but that's voluntary in the sense that you know where your tax dollars are going, and you know it's necessary to support the youth of America. But when the youth of America are robbed by themselves, that is criminal.
Second of all, why give it to school government workers? Aren't they the leaders of the school? Sure, they're elected. What in the world does that matter? They got to their position because they were popular. But wait, aren't they great leaders? No, friends, they were NOT leaders. They were extroverted people who decided to follow the crowd and be socially acceptable. With the exception of few, they don't generally bring any new-ness to the table. They don't bring their radical new ideas, making of themselves a force in the world. No, they are propped up by those who see their surface and like it because they have the best clothes, not because they are the best for their job or the best "leader". Again, with few exceptions, these are popular people. If you want to support popular people and give the scholarships to the people who aren't the best, the cream of the crop, then that is wrong. That is bringing our society down, not honoring the smartest or the most skilled of our generation. Often, the most fit to receive these scholarships are the best leaders, not the most socially acceptable one. Our smart, fine people can be outcasts, insane, and radical people. Most geniuses had to fight, be a leader, be an innovator to become a great person. They don't go with the flow. People like Galileo are the leaders. I doubt that such people are the most popular people, and sometimes they really aren't the smartest people, but they are the best leaders.

Bear with me if that made no sense, I believe I did get riled up in there. In all, the scholarships are taken from people involuntarily and given to people who don't deserve it. Obviously, we can't really find out who is a good leader and who is fit to receive the scholarships. Therefore, we should either eradicate the scholarship or, since the money comes from the whole student population, let it be given out to one of any of the student population, government or not.
